Everyone's mind goes blank sometimes. There are several books out there designed to help you get started writing. Feel free to post the titles of your favorite ones. For now, here are some ideas/beginning story lines to help get you started.
Ideas
What would you like to do most? Write a story about someone (real or fiction) who has done that.
Take a classic story, and change one important detail about it. (For example....Pride and Prejudice, but Darcy and the Binglys are black.)
Change one fact in history and write a story that deals with the ramifications of that change.
What would you do if you had one super ability (magical or not?)
What was the funniest memory from your childhood? Now?
What is your saddest memory?
What do you want the future to look like? What do you think it WILL look like?
Write a story (real or fake) about where your favorite quote came from.
Convert your favorite poem into a story.
Update your favorite story to modern times.
Beginning Story Lines
In the beginning the earth was void and without form, and I liked it that way.
"I never said it would be easy, I only said it would be worth it." Ha. Shows what they know.
"Bloody Nunchucks Two was the best movie ever," Norton told his friend, Boss. Boss folded his arms and humphed. Norton got to see the best movies. It wasn't fair. Why did his Mom have to be such a lame-o?
"Go. Go. Go. Go. Go." Ralph looked around. Everyone was chanting and fistpumping in unison. Their entire energy was focused on one tiny runner racing towards the goal line with intense speed. It was like they had lost all individual will of their own.
