6 tips on Writing by John Steinbeck

Tamara found them, and I am reposting a summary. Click on the title to link to the article.

1. Don't worry about finishing the book. Just finish a page at a time.
2. Write the whole story down before you worry about re-writes.
3. Write to a specific person.
4. If you get stuck writing a particular section, then skip it and come back.
5. Don't keep a scene at the expense of the story.
6. Say the dialogue as you write it.
